Rusty Iron Acres is a small, family run mixed farm that raises purebred and registered American Blackbelly Sheep. Our sheep are raised naturally, with no growth hormones and antibiotics only if necessary.

Our primary business is supplying other producers with small breeding flocks or breeding stock to compliment their existing flocks. We have shipped sheep throughout Canada (coast to coast). In addition we sell goverment inspected, custom processed lamb. We have a strong customer base in the Calgary area. Our customers speak highly or their "farm to plate" lamb.

We run approximately 60 registered ewes and a minimum of 3 mature breeding rams.

2017 lambing started April 27th again this year and was over in less than 3 weeks. We  have an excellent lineup of lambs again this spring.

**Contact us if you would like to be placed on the waiting list for lambs.**

2016 lambing started on January 4th with the first lambs (a set of twins) sired by Rusty Iron Ram-Jam. We  made use of the new barn and tried some winter lambing. It was a huge success.

We kept back all of the 2014 ewe lambs sired by Morrison Ranch 12 Gauge (below left). We are very excited to work them into our breeding program. All of the the ewes were bred and are are looking very good, as are their lambs.

Alberta Century Farm and Ranch Award

Our family has been recognized by Alberta Agriculture with the Alberta Century Farm and Ranch Award!!

This award is given to families who have homesteaded land and continuously farmed that land for over 100 years.  2017 marks 116 years!

We are very proud of this accomplishment. It represents a tremendous amount of hard work by our family members.
