Rusty Iron Acres is located near Innisfail, Alberta, Canada. 

Doug's Great-Great Grandparents- George H and Mary Jane Kirham began their homestead on what is now known as Rusty Iron Acres in 1901. Doug and Tina purchased the land from Doug's Grandparents William H (Herb) and Frieda Branson in 2005. Together, Doug and Tina built a home and rebuilt the farm from the ground up. Their children (Hannah and Matthew) are the 6th generation in Doug's family to be involved in farming this piece of land. 

In 2012, we were recognized by Alberta Agriculture with the Alberta Century Farm and Ranch Award.  This award is given to Alberta families that homesteaded and have continuously farmed land for over 100 years. We continue to live, farm, and ranch on the original George H. Kirkham homestead.
